Group lessons for children

Would you like your child to study Spanish in a group? Would you like your child to have a native speaker as a teacher? Would you like your child to make some new friends? It is also possible. Diana organizes classes for children in person as well. There are 3 basic categories:

Estrellas/stars - beginners
kindergarten students and pre-schoolers - aged 3 to 5

Cantantes/singers - beginners +/ pre-intermediate
students from key stage 1 - aged 6 to 9

Adventureros/adventurers - pre-intermediate
students from key stage 2 - aged 10 to 13

The usual duration of 1 unit is 60 minutes. The number of students in one class is 2 to 4. With this  umber of students, a personal approach can still be maintained. Students are assessed via short interviews in order to decide which group would be most appropriate. In a typical lesson, the students will first revise vocabulary by playing a game and singing a song. The warm up phase is usually followed up a conversational block about interesting topics for children. And of course, sometimes if the weather is sunny and warm, students can also go outside and study Spanish in the nature. The vocabulary revision is usually done from age-appropriate materials in a very playful way.

About the lector

Hi, how are things? My name is Diana Flores, I am from Lima, Peru, but I have lived in the Czech Republic, Prague, for 14 years. I really like getting to know new places, countries, customs and people, especially from Europe. I also like running and walking with my family, a Czech husband and a Czech-Peruvian son. I speak English and I studied in 2016 at the Tía Tula Spanish School Training Course for

Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language and also the Spanish Course for Children at the International House, in 2019. My lessons are dynamic and usually divided into several sections. First, we tend to converse about our current situation and circumstances. And then we use a textbook (level A1 - B2) in order to revise your grammar and “un-dust” your existing vocabulary. We also usually write new words down in order to revise them at later stages. I strongly encourage my students to express themselves in Spanish without feeling apprehensive about making mistakes. Allow yourself to make a mistake with grace. Most of my classes with advanced speakers are, however, conversational as I believe that talking about various topics of interest is the way towards progress. And that is that main goal – to practise as much as you can in order to internalize your learning.
